You and I are here on this planet with purpose. Your life and mine must be lived with purpose on purpose. Even when things don’t go as planned there is a great profit for you and me in the midst of those circumstances. It has been said: “When life give you lemons, make lemonade”. I would say when life gives you lemons…”Give thanks for lessons learned.”
I wouldn’t trade the times I’ve spent with God in the most difficult seasons of my life. I have come out a better person than I was because of His tender love teaching me what I needed to learn.
I don’t desire to go through those hard times, yet when I do, the Lord has been faithful to restore and mend the broken pieces to make me whole again. Our lives matter to God. Your purpose and mine is to bear fruit for His glory whatever the circumstances we go through, even when things seem out of place: “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit” (John 15:16).
Hang in there! The Lord will always be faithful to His Word. We are on a journey. Sometimes we may fall and get hurt, but we can get up again. Sometimes we find blocks we need to remove and mountains we need to climb and conquer. But in all, God is holding us every step of the way leading us home. Life is a temporary hallway that prepares us for what God has ahead.
I love the ending of a session in a Beth Moore Bible study because it depicts our journey very well. God’s will for you and me is to serve His purpose in our generation. There are cups in our life we must drink. Beth says it this way: “He thought it through, not easy decisions. If the cup does not pass, it was critical. There is nothing that you and I won’t bore on this earth than that we serve God’s purpose in our generation. Not as perfect flesh and blood, but stumbling, crawling, falling, all the way home, trusting.”
I want to offer a word of encouragement to you today because I know that life isn’t perfect and when we hurt we need each other. Here are the two songs on our segment “Worship Thursdays.” May God bless you and encourage you in your walk with Him.
